Adjustment is via four external adjusting screws - by screwing out a screw and screwing in the opposing screw. As a result, the section of sky visible in the mounted accessory employed (e.g. Baader Vario Finder, eyepiece, camera, spotting scope, guide scope, etc.) can be very precisely adjusted and aligned with the telescope. After adjustment is complete, the adjustment screws are tightened to firmly fix the Tangent Assembly in place. A stainless steel locking dowel is included in delivery with the Stronghold Tangent Assembly which, on delivery, is located in a holder on the azimuth blocks. Using this locking dowel, both the elevation axis and the azimuth axis may be locked in the final position, achieving maximum rigidity of the system. The dowel has to be inserted into the clamping screw and turned a few degrees clockwise for this. To unlock the axis, the locking knob must be loosened by the same amount prior to any readjustment.
