The graphic motif that characterizes the NADIRUS Dobson is the design of the wheel that identifies in the intersection of 6 circles of different diameters, and some suitably radiused corners, that will surround the profile. These curves are repeated on the body of the base with the aim of lightening.
Even the base of the rotating system has been lightened with a pattern, unique, reminiscent of the blades of a fan. Attention to the design, technique and mechanics, in the name of practicality which has been the dominant theme of this project.
We privileged a structure in lamellar beech wood which makes it stable and lightweight. In particular, it has been taken care of the upper cylinder housing is where the spider secondary mirror holder which was made of birch plywood crossed beams that give the piece a unique strength and stability. Although the primary mirror cell is made of birch plywood with a support system where the 9-point floating mirror rests on discs of natural cork foam.
