This Smartphone Adapter is a very useful accessory for everyone interested in astrophotography, or shooting wildlife or microcosm. The adapter allows you to install any smartphone model on your telescope, microscope, binoculars, or spotting scope. Now you can take pictures of Saturn's rings, record quality video of running wild boars, capture moving ciliates, and photograph many other interesting things that you can immediately e-mail to your friends or post on Instagram!
The assembly process is very easy – install the adapter on the eyepiece of your optical instrument, and then install your smartphone onto the adapter. All you have to do is turn on the smartphone camera, center it, and adjust the focus of your optical device to get clear and sharp views of observed objects.
The Smartphone Adapter is truly universal – you can use it with any smartphone model having a width mentioned in the specifications below. There’s no limitation for smartphone height.
Usage: General use product. May be used by kids over 3 years old.
Smartphone adapter instructions
Remove the eyepiece from the telescope if possible.
- Open the hexagonal eyepiece clamp. Place the eyepiece in it. Tighten the top screw so that the eyepiece does not slip out.
- Open the smartphone clamp with the other screw until your smartphone fits in. Be careful that the clamp does not press on the side buttons of the smartphone.
- Tighten the screw so that your phone does not slip out.
- Turn on the smartphone and open your camera app. The flash should be turned off.
- Loosen the button on the bottom of the adapter that secures the smartphone clamp.
- Slide the clamp up and down and rotate left and right until your camera looks through the eyepiece. Clamp the screw on the bottom of the adapter to secure the clamp.
- Insert the eyepiece with the attached adapter and smartphone into the telescope or microscope.
- Focus the image using the telescope's focuser or the microscope's focuser.
- Photograph the image with your app. Recommended setting: 5 to 10 seconds self-timer. Also experiment with manual sensitivity and exposure time settings, HDR mode, or similar functions.
If your smartphone has multiple cameras, try switching between them. After switching over, you only have to carry out the steps from point 6 again.
