Schmidt-Cassegrain (SC) complete cleaning plus collimation (75495)
We get the best out of your telescope!
This service includes the working time of our technicians and the use of our optical bench for cleaning and collimation of Schmidt-Cassegrain optics to the best performance achievable. Costs for cleaning agents and other consumables are already included in this all-inclusive offer. For all smaller SC optics up to 10" the flat rate is € 199 plus shipping costs. For SC optics from 11" to 14" the flat rate is € 319.- plus shipping costs. Please let us know, if any other work is required on the optics - we will then send you a cost estimate. If spare parts are required or tools need to be made in order to repair very special optics, this will be charged separately (after consultation with the customer, of course). If "difficult conditions" - such as extreme soiling - prevail for the work due to an earlier repair by the customer or another service provider, a higher price may be charged.
Some optical errors cannot be corrected by collimation. In this case, we will discuss with the customer, whether a more complex re-alignment of the optical components is worthwhile or whether the optics simply have this error and it cannot be corrected (miscut etc.)...If the telescope was sent to us in inadequate packaging, we reserve the right to produce new packaging in order to be able to deliver the device to the customer in the best possible collimated condition. The resulting costs for materials and labor will be charged to the customer.
From a certain optics size, we only ship by forwarding agent (possibly on half a pallet). Please inform us if your optics are no longer in their original condition. In particular, twisting the optically effective surfaces (SC plate, primary mirror, secondary mirror) without previously applied markings can multiply the time required.If the desired work is not possible after checking the device in our workshop, we will send the device back to you unprocessed with a service fee of € 49 plus delivery costs.
