Swarovski Optik VPA (variable phone adapter)
The variable phone adapter offers a flexible adapter solution that can be used with most smartphones available on the market. Width, height and camera position are adjustable, and it can be mounted onto Swarovski Optik binoculars and spotting scopes by means of three different adapter rings. The anthracite-coloured adapter is made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic and is therefore lightweight and yet stable. A thread allows the respective adapter ring to be attached. For the best possible image quality, the VPA is mounted onto the binoculars'/spotting scope's eye cup.
There are three adapter rings available (please see our sets!):
- AR-B adapter ring for binoculars/BTX: eye cup � min. 37.2mm - max. 42.8mm
- AR-S adapter ring for ATX/STX : eye cup � 59mm
- AR-S adapter ring for ATS/ STS, ATM/ STM, STR : eye cup 55mm
Please note: the VPA's mounting thread is not the same as that of the PA-i iPhone adapter, so the respective adapter rings are only compatible with the corresponding phone adapter.
Smartphone compatability
Compatible with current smartphone models from Samsung, Huawei and iPhone (not iPhone 4), and most models from HTC, LG and Google Phone. You can check the compatibility of particular smartphone models in the graphic, where the maximum and minimum height and width of the smartphone as well as the appropriate camera positions can be seen.
CAUTION: On some Sony and Motorola smartphone models, certain controls are positioned in the middle on the right side of the phone, and are therefore obscured or activated by the VPA's lateral clamp lever. Unfortunately, these smartphones are therefore not suitable for use with the VPA.
